Here’s how you can make a big difference for clean energy in Mesa County!

Colorado has been making strides to become a leader in clean and renewable energy generation and transmission, and this hard work couldn’t be done without our rural electric cooperatives championing the cause. These co-ops represent the energy needs of over 1.5 million Coloradans, many of whom live right here on the Western Slope. With so many people depending on their co-op boards to determine their energy rates, where their power comes from, and how it is generated, it is critically important that you participate in these elections. Less than 10% of eligible voters typically participate in rural electric co-op elections that determine so much about our daily life, so don’t miss out on your chance to elect forward-thinking leaders to your board!

Ballots are out now for Grand Valley Power (GVP) customers to choose their next representatives to the GVP Board, and our energy future is at stake! Clean air, stable energy prices, and more locally produced power in Mesa County are on the ballot, and if we want to realize a clean and sustainable future, we need your vote! Western Colorado Alliance urges you to support Mike Moran and Thomas Lake to the Grand Valley Power Board of Directors to be your voice supporting clean energy in Mesa County.

Voters have until 4 pm on August 3 to return their mail-in ballot or they can attend the GVP Annual Meeting in person at 5:30 pm at the Meyer Ballroom on the Colorado Mesa University Campus to vote in person on August 3. If you would like to attend the GVP Annual Meeting, you can register here.
