The Ridgway Ouray Community Council (ROCC) is a nonprofit community organization whose mission is to build, nourish, and protect the healthy spirit of our community. ROCC is dedicated to quality-of-life issues that will help shape the future of Ouray County.
Uncompahgre Valley Alliance
Since 1982, Uncompahgre Valley Alliance members have worked for a healthy and sustainable community in Montrose County. Through grassroots organizing, Uncompahgre Valley Alliance has successfully campaigned on social and economic justice, environmental stewardship, local food production, and more. Uncompahgre Valley Alliance is committed to intentionally and systematically working through the Organizing Cycle as a way to develop current leaders and identify new leaders. Central to the Organizing Cycle is actively engaging in hundreds of conversations to identify local issues that can be worked through to public action that will create concrete and positive changes for the whole of Montrose.
Western Colorado Alliance of Garfield County
We envision respectful, thriving, and equitable communities where residents are actively engaged in creating sustainable local policies and participating in civic and social activities that ensure a good quality of life is accessible for everyone in Garfield County.
Grand Valley Citizens Alliance
We choose to live in a beautiful area of western Garfield County that happens to be resource-rich with natural gas, shale oil, crude oil, coal, and other energy-producing resources. For nearly 100 years, locals have been pricked, prodded, drilled, fracked, mined, and even bombed in attempts to extract these minerals. Formed in 1997, the Grand Valley Citizens Alliance has extensive experience when it comes to tackling the impacts of energy development — especially regarding oil and gas drilling.
