Join us to learn about the 10MW Nannie Blaine Solar Park!

Have you heard about the planned 10-40MW Nannie Blaine Solar Park set to be built near the Grand Junction Regional Airport in Mesa County? Well, here is your opportunity! On Tuesday, December 12, from 6-7:30 pm at the Mesa County Libraries Central Branch’s Mesa Room (443 N 6th St, Grand Junction, CO 81501), Western Colorado Alliance is hosting SolarGen, a photovoltaic systems design and construction company, which plans to install this wonderful community benefit that will take advantage of our abundant solar resources to lower our energy bills and keep our air and water clean!

The Nannie Blaine Solar Park, named after the first school teacher in Mesa County, will provide energy for member-owners of Grand Valley Power and Xcel Energy, but will especially benefit School District 51 schools. While the Nannie Blaine Solar Park has been approved by both the State Land Board and the Mesa County Commissioners, the project has run into difficulty gaining an interconnect so the power can flow from the panels to the grid.

Join us Tuesday to learn all about the benefits and challenges of completing this project from Carmine Iadrola, owner of SolarGen, and find out how you can help get this project across the finish line so we can enjoy cheaper, cleaner energy right in our backyard!
