This summer, our Alliance has joined the Protect Colorado’s Future coalition to create a fair tax code for Colorado and raise money for our schools, our rural hospitals, and our kids. We are working with people across the state to place a tax reform measure on the ballot in November to reduce income tax burdens for 97% of Coloradans and asking corporations and individuals who make over $500,000 to pay a little more.
According to the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, Colorado’s wealthiest 1% stand to gain an average of $71,000 in tax cuts under Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill. This ballot initiative will correct that imbalance. It is estimated that a graduated income tax could raise over $2 billion a year for the state, and would redirect those funds back into Colorado’s healthcare and childcare programs, public schools, food assistance, and public safety, among other priorities. In other words, programs that benefit ALL Coloradans.
