Come hear the five candidates for Mesa County’s School District 51 Board on Wednesday!

The students of West Slope Youth Voice invite you to attend this week’s Student Voices SD51 School Board Candidate Forum on Wednesday, October 18, from 5:30-7 pm at the Dual Immersion Academy in the Riverside neighborhood. This forum highlights the key issues that are most important to young people as determined by West Slope Youth Voice’s annual surveys.

All five candidates have indicated they will be in attendance at the forum, including District A candidates Jose Luis Chavez, Jessica Hearns, and CynDee Skalla, and District B candidates Cindy Enos Martinez, and Barbara Evanson. Questions will be generated and asked by the students. We encourage all students, voters, and interested community members to attend! The election will occur on November 7.

We hope this forum will elevate student voices and ensure their concerns are heard so that those in elected positions are both aware and considerate of the needs of our young people and future leaders. Please sign up now to join us for this great opportunity to hear the candidates in their own words!
