The CORE Act has never been closer to passage!

Did you hear the news? The Colorado Outdoor Recreation & Economy (CORE) Act faced its first Senate vote in committee earlier this week. That resulted in a party-line tie in committee — good enough that the Senate can now proceed with consideration of the bill for a final vote or as part of a larger package of public lands bills.

This is tremendously exciting. If the CORE Act passes, it will protect roughly 400,000 acres of public lands in Colorado and would be, as original Senate sponsor Michael Bennet has said, “the most significant public lands bill for Colorado in a quarter of a century.”

Our Alliance has been working on this bill for years now and we will continue to work on it until it is law. But we want to take full measure of this important moment and thank our state’s U.S. senators, Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper, for their roles in shepherding this important legislation to this point. Please take a moment to thank Sens. Bennet and Hickenlooper today!
