Last year, the Colorado Division of Wildlife and Colorado Division of Parks merged into one agency.   To complete the merger, the composition of the new governing board has to be finalized.  This week, the agencies are hosting a public meeting in Grand Junction.  Your voice can help ensure a balanced commission and robust wildlife populations!

Here’s some background from our friends at Colorado Environmental Coalition:
  In 2011, the Colorado state legislature voted to merge the Colorado Division of Wildlife and Colorado State Parks into a single state agency, now named Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). The transition is to be completed by the end of February, 2012. A key part of the transition is the creation of a new  Board of Commissioners to serve the new agency and represent the needs of both parks and wildlife and all of us who hike, bike, camp, fish, hunt, bird-watch and otherwise use state lands.

A current proposal would provide balanced representation on the new commission of sportsmen and women, agricultural interests, local governments, recreation representatives, and conservation voices. This fair and balanced approach will provide equal representation for all outdoor enthusiasts. The legislature will soon vote on this proposal and we need your help to ensure balanced representation!
