Grand Junction showed up!

The crowd that attended the recent City Council Candidates Forum

Wow! Our Alliance’s Just Housing team (and all the candidates!) were overwhelmingly excited about the number of people who decided to attend our Grand Junction City Council Forum. The room exceeded capacity and had participants lining up way before the event started. The room was filled with over 200 participants, and another 220 watched live via Facebook!

We are thrilled by the success of the event and send a huge “Thank you!” to West Slope Youth Voice, Save the Orchard Mesa Pool, the League of Woman Voters, and everyone who joined us during our lightning round to offer questions. And of course, we are grateful to everyone who could attend this amazing event!

But don’t just take my word for it. Attendees told us it was “the only diverse forum in the community!” And “Western Colorado Alliance knows how to put on a forum! [They] did an outstanding job of accommodating the huge crowd. It was a very well-organized event and each candidate had equal time to address each question that was presented. I love that West Slope Youth Voice was the one that asked the candidates questions. Taylor did an awesome job. Thanks, Western Colorado Alliance!  We appreciate all you do for our community.”

If you did not get a chance to watch, or would like to revisit the forum before voting, visit our Facebook page which has the live feed.

We are so grateful to have the support of our community. We could not do this without you and hope to see you at the next event!
