Don’t miss the Pollinators workshops on August 24!

A highlight of our Alliance’s Annual Conference every year is the set of workshops we offer our members in the afternoon session. These workshops offer an opportunity for Alliance organizers and our members to come together and learn new skills and ways of framing our work on behalf of more healthy, just, and self-reliant Western Colorado communities. This year, at Pollinators, our 44th Annual Conference, on August 24 at the Colorado Mesa University Meyer Ballroom, we’ll be offering an important election year plenary workshop and your choice from three breakout workshops.

Our plenary workshop is entitled Buzzing to the Polls: Mobilizing for the 2024 Elections, and will highlight the key ballot measures that will impact our West Slope communities. Want to know where our Alliance stands on these issues? Join us for a hive discussion about the ballot measures, how our Alliance plans to Get Out The Vote, and ways you can bee involved in our democracy to make a meaningful difference for Western Colorado.

And after the plenary, you can pick one of three breakout workshops to attend:

Wings of Diversity: Promoting Equity and Inclusion in Our Communities will feature special guest Ana Morris as Language Justice Co-Facilitator, guiding us through strategies to engage all demographics in our area through the lens of language justice.

Harvesting Growth: Fundraising for Community Empowerment will explore the joys and challenges of grassroots fundraising, from overcoming the discomfort of asking for support to understanding how fundraising builds community power.

And What’s the Word, Hummingbird? Connecting With Local Decision Makers will bring together a panel of guests (Scott Beilfuss, Grand Junction City Council member; Jock Fleming, Delta-Montrose Electric Association Board Member; Jonathan Godes, Glenwood Springs City Council member; Bobbie Gross, Mesa County Clerk & Recorder; and Jose Luis Chavez, Mesa County School District 51 Board Member) to discover what captures the attention of West Slope decision makers, and to answer your questions about local representative democracy.

We hope you can join us for what we know are going to be informative and entertaining workshops as part of our Annual Conference. Tickets for the Annual Conference are $40. Please register today to save your place!
