Come tour Happy Hive Farm on May 18!

We’re excited to announce the first tour in “Family To Farm,” this year’s series of Western Colorado Alliance farm tours. Our inaugural farm visit will happen on May 18 at 9 am.

Happy Hive Farm in Grand Junction will be the focus of this first venture into the fields in 2024. Happy Hive raises pasture-fed chicken using regenerative farming practices. Incorporating livestock is one of the primary principles of regenerative farming. At Happy Hive chickens do that job, contributing fertilizer and helping with insect control. The chickens rotate through the farm in movable coops so all the soil benefits from their work. It’s truly a happy life for the chickens, who spend their days roaming free on the farm and sleep their nights away in a warm coop safe from the foxes. Come meet some happy chickens at Happy Hive, and enjoy a petting zoo with chicks and baby rabbits!

This is the first of seven farm tours planned in four counties this year between now and October. Our Alliance’s annual farm tours have become a popular draw over the past two years. They offer a great view into how some of our local farms are quietly revolutionizing agriculture in the area. We hope you’ll take this opportunity to sign up for this visit to Happy Hive Farm on May 18!
