Air quality workshops scheduled for Sept. 5

State air pollution staff members are hosting a public meeting in Grand Junction on September 10 at the Grand Junction City Hall Auditorium. Under discussion will be the implementation of the recently passed oil and gas legislation (SB-181), followed by public comments specific to the Western Slope perspective. Please participate if possible! Attendance is limited to 120 people.

To better understand what will be discussed and how to comment, you are invited to come to a workshop on Thursday, September 5. There will be a brief presentation followed by questions and discussion and an opportunity to gather your own thoughts into meaningful comments.

There will be four workshops (one hour each) at 3 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Grand Valley at 536 Ouray Avenue in Grand Junction. You may attend any of the above times, at your convenience.

I hope you will decide to contribute to this groundbreaking rulemaking opportunity! It’s our chance to help rewrite the rules on oil and gas operations in order to “protect public health, safety and welfare, the environment, and wildlife.”

The scope of the rulemakings and comment guidelines will be provided at the workshop, so join us if you can. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or comments. My email address is troy@westerncoloradoalliance.org and you can also reach me at (970) 812-2111.

Thank you for your continued support!
