A Community Conversation

A Community Conversation

Uncompahgre Valley Alliance, Western Colorado Alliance’s affiliate group in Montrose County, will be hosting A Community Conversation on December 7, from 5-7 pm, at the Ute Indian Museum in Montrose.

You are cordially invited to Uncompahgre Valley Alliance’s biggest public event in YEARS! Our organizing committee has been working very hard to revitalize the affiliate, and as part of that effort, we will be engaging in our Community Conversation on Thursday, December 7.

Join us for dinner, community, and a shared moment of power as we usher in this new chapter for our Alliance. Most importantly, we need YOUR input and guidance on our next campaign. This is your chance to help shape the work. We can’t wait to see you then!

Our affiliate is about to enter a new era of community organizing and power building. Join us as we recount our deep listening journey and gather your input for the future of the affiliate. This event is free to all, children are welcome, dinner will be provided, and English-to-Spanish interpretation will be offered.

About the author

Bianca Diaz hails from northeast Florida, and brings a background in volunteer management, activism, and community building. She worked in the procurement world for a few years before making the big leap to move out west. She landed a position as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Colorado Canyons Association and the Bureau of Land Management to connect youth and families to the three National Conservation Areas here on the Western Slope. During her year of service, she realized that helping people and working to solve the root causes of our most pressing social issues was her true passion. Off the clock, she loves reading random Wikipedia articles, listening to music, taking care of her worm compost bins, walking her dog, and stargazing!
