The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has been developing a new oil & gas management plan for Western Colorado. This plan will determine how two-million acres of public lands (and the mineral rights for those lands) will be managed over the next several decades. We have just through next Monday, July 25, to submit comments on the agency’s plans.
This planning area stretches from Grand Junction to Edwards, and includes some of our most valued landscapes, such as the upper Colorado and Roaring Fork valleys, Bangs Canyon, the Grand Hogback, and the northern Dolores River. The beloved wilderness, wildlife, and cultural resources of these areas are threatened by new oil & gas leasing.
This is just the beginning of the BLM’s planning process, when they are considering what issues should be analyzed and what impacts should be considered in the first draft of the plan.
Please help protect our public lands from reckless oil & gas drilling. Use this easy template to submit a comment today!
