2022 accomplishments, recap — and THANK YOU!

Just Housing’s Arlo Miller addressed the then-upcoming affordable housing measures
on the ballot at our Open House event on October 11.

Western Colorado Alliance of Mesa County has accomplished so much in 2022 and it could not have happened without your support and solidarity. We thank you for gifting us with your time, talent, financial contribution, and/or for showing up to an event.

Thanks to you, we:

Mesa County

  • Launched the American Rescue Plan Act Survey in January and gathered 335 responses
  • Helped guide the decision for the Grand Junction City Council ARPA Committee to increase the acceptance of proposals
  • Formed a solar co-op with Solar United Neighbors

Deep Listening

  • Held Mesa County’s first deep listening training in June
  • Knocked on 480 doors (with a team that included the organizer, 14 volunteers, and one paid bilingual canvasser
  • Conducted 142 in-depth conversations at the door with 57 people interested in neighborhood meetings

Just Housing

  • Formed the Just Housing group
  • Spoke in front of the City Council on the Richmark development issue
  • Held a successful open house
  • Won valuable publicity when Colorado Public Radio and the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reached out to our Alliance’s Just Housing group

We share these successes with you because they could not have been achieved without you!
