DESCRIPTION:Please join Uncompahgre Valley Alliance on July 9 at Hispanic Affairs Project (504 N. 1st St. in Montrose) for deep canvass training and dinner! \nRight now\, Colorado is at a crossroads — people are worried\, finances are tough\, and our state government is cutting critically important programs we rely on like health care\, education\, and child care due to TABOR (Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights). This summer\, Western Colorado Alliance is going door-to-door across our region to talk directly with voters\, listen to them about how they are being impacted\, and offer a solution — let’s repeal the parts of TABOR that are holding us back from being a well-funded state that can provide for its people. We aim to mobilize 10\,000 voters this November to this cause\, but we can’t do it without YOU! Register here to join us in this transformational effort and learn more about TABOR\, its impacts on us\, and how we can utilize deep canvassing to make a real difference this year that will have a positive impact for decades to come.

SUMMARY:2026 Earth Action Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Join us on April 23 for the 2nd Annual Earth Action Celebration! \nThis event is a family friendly\, collaborative event to promote stewardship of our environment and the many ways people can get involved and personalize their stewardship. The City of Montrose\, as well as The Montrose Recreation District\, are supporting the Uncompahgre Valley Alliance\, who will be hosting this event for its second year in celebration of Earth Week. \nIt all takes place on April 23\, between 4 and 7 pm at Flex Park at Colorado Outdoors! \nThere will be several exhibits from non-profits that also promote stewardship of the river and land\, engaging and educational activities\, a kids’ corner\, live music and entertainment\, free food and refreshments\, and lots of giveaways to start up your garden and celebrate spring! \nFamilies and community members will be encouraged to ride their bicycles to the event\, as there will be a bike check station sponsored by the Bike Tech Program of Vista Charter School and the non-profit Project Bike Tech. \nWe’ll have more details and information on exhibitors available soon!
